AROC Action The Institute for the Understanding of Anti-Palestinian Racism K-12 Legal Defense — Teach, Learn & Belong

Discrimination & Censorship Tracker

Need help filling out this form? Call us at 415-861-7444 between 10AM and 5PM PT. A member of our staff can help you fill it out or arrange time to fill it out together.

This is a national tracker for incidents of hate, racism, or repression against Palestinian, Arab, allied, and other BAMEMSA individuals. It covers schools and other settings across the country. Reporting here helps us fight back against the growing racism and repression facing our communities and our kids.

AROC Action and researchers from the Institute for Understanding Anti-Palestinian Racism (IUAPR) developed this tool together. We will use it to understand and challenge the many types of discrimination our communities face.

For individuals in California, this tracker also allows you to choose if you want to submit to statewide incident registries that help us respond to unfair laws and racist trends in California schools and other settings. Californians can also choose if they want to receive direct follow-up support from AROC or legal advisors at K-12 Defense, PalLegal and/or CAIR. This form does not in itself constitute legal advice.

Privacy and Anonymity

Nothing you submit will be identified with you and shared anywhere beyond the research team without your permission. When you fill out this form, all of the information is encrypted and kept secure, private, and confidential. Any incident data will be anonymized so that nothing can be traced back to you unless you want to share your story publicly.

What is anti-Palestinian racism?

Anti-Palestinian racism is a form of systemic racism that works to silence, exclude, erase, stereotype, defame, or treat Palestinians and their stories as less than human. It shows up in many ways and can include:

Nakba Denial
Discrediting the factual basis of Palestinian expulsion in 1948 and other massacres.
Justifying Violence Against Palestinians
E.g. bullying or threatening a student for wearing a keffiyeh or standing up for Palestinian rights.
Denying Palestinians are Indigenous to Palestine
With their own identity and rights.
Erasing Palestinian Human Rights
And their equal dignity and worth, e.g. not being allowed to talk about what is happening to Palestinians, related news stories or experiences.
Excluding Palestinians or Palestinian perspectives
And stories, or pressuring others to exclude them, e.g. not being allowed to join a club or host an event.
Defaming Palestinians or their allies
With slander, such as calling them inherently anti-semitic, a terrorist threat or supporter, against democracy, or falsely associating them with Palestinian political factions.
